Leaks can occur at a few different points along the water supply line to Mistbox. Most are resolvable with a couple of easy steps.
To fix a leak at the connection at the Mistbox control unit and water line
If you see leaking where the water line connects with the Mistbox control unit, ensure the tubing is pushed in all the way.
To fix a leak at the Mistbox water hose adapter
If you connected the included hose adapter to a garden hose...
The hose adapter included with Mistbox operates without leaks in most situations, but it's not guaranteed to be compatible with every garden hose, especially those where the threading is too shallow to make a tight connection.
For this reason, leaks are less likely to occur when the hose adapter connects directly to a faucet or Y splitter. With this in mind, we recommend one of the two following solutions:
Rather than connecting the water lead to a garden hose to extend the line, use a longer 3/8" water line. You can attach the hose adapter to the longer water line (rather than the included 8' line), then connect it directly to a water faucet or Y splitter on the faucet. Your confirmation email has a reasonably priced 100' UV tolerant water line.
You may also consider purchasing an after-market metal hose adapter that is compatible with our 3/8" water line instead and connect it to your garden hose.
If you connected the included hose adapter to a water faucet or Y splitter...
First, ensure that the black tubing is pushed in all the way.
The leak here could also be caused by the O-ring being dislodged in the hose adapter. Remove the adapter and, if dislodged, put the O-ring back in place.
If neither of these solutions fix the problem, consider purchasing an after-market metal hose adapter that is compatible with our 3/8" water line and/or seal the connection using PTFE thread seal tape.
